Fahrenheit Perfume for Men was released in January of 2014, and is an ideal cologne for the colder fall and winter months. The warm scent of suede and spicy liquorice root is perfect on chilly days, and the hint of the Orient give’s this men’s cologne its sexy appeal. The latest addition to Dior’s line of men’s fragrances, it is a welcome change from the lighter scents of summer.

Fahrenheit cologne by Christian Dior is yet another one of those classic fragrances that just won’t seem to go away. I can remember buying my first bottle of cologne. I was 14 years old, at the local mall with some friends. We were convinced that some good cologne would go a long way toward attracting girls and took our cologne shopping very seriously. This was a scent that would stick with us for months, or possibly longer if we decided to buy another one. After sampling a handful of fragrances that were popular at the time (Cool Water, Safari, Polo Sport, Obsession), I decided to go with one that really made an impression on me: Fahrenheit cologne.
I can still remember walking through my high school with the scent coming off of my body. It’s a strong scent that has hints of spices, and to me, almost had the smell of fresh paper. I guess they’d call that woodsy. Anyway, I finished my 3.4 ounce bottle within the span of several months and ended up buying another one right after. While I don’t still wear Christian Dior Fahrenheit cologne on a daily basis, I still have a bottle to this day that sits alongside a few other colognes that I wear.
Anyway, this has been one of the most successful selling colognes of all-time for good reason: people simply love the smell. Females are especially drawn to it, which is probably responsible for the success of the brand.
Fahrenheit cologne comes in multiple versions: there’s Fahrenheit Eau de Toilette, and there’s Fahrenheit aftershave. Like any fragrance, the aftershave will be cheaper than the Eau de Toilette, but both are a bit on the pricier side for cologne these days. The reason? It’s in scarcer supply than it was in the past. Then again, it’s always been on the more expensive side given its high quality scent and lasting appeal.
Our Review of Fahrenheit Le Parfum for Men
This wintery fragrance was released in 2014, and created by Dior’s master perfumer Francois Demachy. Well known for his creative and complex scents, he did not disappoint with his latest fragrance. The natural and rare ingredients accent the scent of suede, and enhance the exotic nature of the cologne. The men’s cologne is perfect for romantic evenings curled up by the fire, or for enticing new scent to wear during the cold winter season.

Fragrance Notes
This is one of the best colognes for winter with its opening notes of warm suede, sweeten by Sicilian mandarin and liquorice root. The middle composition is comprised of an exciting new blend of violet leaf and rum absolute. Coriander and caraway are also added to give the heart of the cologne a fresh spicy scent. The base of the fragrance is bourbon vanilla absolute, which is exotic, sensual, and very sexy.
The Scent
The scent throughout is warm suede, and it is the perfect aroma for the winter season. The sweet liquorice root keeps the fragrance from becoming too deep, and adds just the right seasonal flavor for the upcoming holiday season. It is the bourbon vanilla absolute that will grab your attention, and it stays with you throughout the day. It is a strong and complex fragrance that will get you noticed.
The Appearance
The 75ml flagon is elegantly designed and blends in naturally with the other Fahrenheit colognes by Dior. The top of the glass decanter is a rich black that gradually blends into a deep orange red. The bottom of the bottle is a bright yellow that disappears into the glass base. It is a beautiful decanter that deserves to be displayed, and is nothing less than what you would expect from the house of Dior.
Best Uses

This men’s cologne is best suited for fall and winter use, though it can be worn as your signature scent. It should be noted that it might be too heavy for warm, summer days at the beach. The complex fragrance is designed to be worn to formal functions, and is the perfect accompaniment to a romantic evening. While the cologne is best suited for older men, it can also be worn by younger generations.
Value
Even though the men’s perfume is priced higher than other colognes, it is worth the extra cost when you factor in its projection and longevity. The cologne’s fragrance will last all day, and you only need to apply a few drops of the exotic scent. The complexity of the perfume is also makes up for its higher price.
Conclusion
Fahrenheit Parfum for men is a complex fragrance that is warm, sweet, and sensual. It has been one of the top selling men’s colognes for young men for a number of years, and its unique fragrance is something to look forward to during the winter. If you have been looking for the best men’s cologne for cold weather, then the house of Dior has created something, especially for you.
The best value, though, might be found in the giant 6.8 oz bottle offered by many online retailers. This, however, is a huge bottle and could easily last you a year, even if worn every day. I’d only recommend buying a Fahrenheit 6.8 ounce cologne bottle if you already know you like the fragrance. Otherwise, it’s something that could literally last you for the rest of your life if you only chose to wear it once in a while.
There have also been offshoots of the Fahrenheit cologne brand. There’s Fahrenheit summer cologne, Fahrenheit 23 cologne, and Fahrenheit Zero cologne, all of which bear similarities to the classic fragrance, but none have been nearly as successful as the original.
A cologne introduced in 1988 still has tremendous appeal over 20 years later. This is what I call the mark of a great fragrance. Christian Dior Fahrenheit cologne is a classic and looks to remain that way for quite some time
Robert Thomes (perfume tester)
While Dior’s Fahrenheit Perfume for men was released last winter, I just got a chance to try it. The reviews are correct in describing the continual scent of suede, but I was surprised to find that it wasn’t overpowering. The sweet mandarin and liquorice help to keep the cologne from becoming too heavy and masculine, and I particularly enjoyed the hint of vanilla. While I didn’t find it to exotic, I do plan on wearing the new Fahrenheit this winter.
